impactlake™ released its official version last December. Since then, we have been incorporating feedback from investors (including institutional investors and venture capital firms) and businesses (including startups) to sequentially develop effective features that are particularly aligned with the practical aspects of impact management. We are pleased to announce the release of a major update featuring AI-powered automation capabilities that we have been testing and developing for some time.
Consequently, impactlake™, which we have previously offered as an “impact management tool,” will now assume a broader role in the operations supporting the execution of sustainability strategies as an “impact management agent.” Guided by the principle of “eliminating reliance on individual expertise for routine tasks,” it will cater to more specialized and flexible operations.
Background
The importance of sustainability management has become a given for many companies, and formal ESG initiatives, in particular, are largely focused on external disclosure. At the same time, many companies are devising various strategies to ensure that these initiatives are integrated into their management strategies, utilized in business and investment decision-making, and further embedded as part of the corporate culture among every employee and stakeholder. In this context, we believe that the concept of “impact” (rather than the word itself) serves as a common language among multiple stakeholders in the creation of corporate and social value.
On the other hand, it is true that challenges remain in impact management from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. At IMPACTLAKE, we have been providing a range of services to help institutional investors, corporations, and other impact-generating entities overcome these hurdles. As these activities are expected to expand further in the future, we developed this solution to enable those creating impact to accumulate their own know-how and information. This facilitates a gradual transition from outsourcing to self-sufficiency and in-house operations, thereby fostering company-wide understanding and awareness of impact management.
The development of this methodology incorporates insights into impact management across various stages and industries, drawn from IMPACTLAKE’s diverse support initiatives, and reflects approaches established through collaboration* with major institutional investors and academic institutions aimed at establishing practical impact management frameworks. While further development and integration of methodologies in this field are expected in the future, IMPACTLAKE and impactlake™ will continue to scrutinize various frameworks and adapt their functionalities from a practical perspective.

This update adds AI-powered features—such as automated assessment and information generation—to our existing impact management suite, particularly for areas that offer a high degree of flexibility (such as initiatives that vary by user or the specific issue areas addressed). (Some features are scheduled to be released in subsequent updates.)
Logicmodel Building Automatically with AI
- Enter information about the initiatives (Activities) to be evaluated and managed (free-form text is acceptable)
- Based on your responses, the system identifies models—either our standard models or those defined by the user—that are likely to contribute, and automatically generates a logic model
- The traditional questionnaire-style wizard is also available for use in parallel
Impact Report Drafting Automatically with AI
- Import logic models and KPIs organized qualitatively and quantitatively using the Impact Management feature
- Automatically generate content based on the entered information, following a template structure tailored to the objective (supports foreign languages; additional templates will be added sequentially)
- Update and proofread the automatically generated content, then export the final proofread content in various formats (.pptx, .docx, .html)
- If necessary, you can directly request final report preparation (including design) or conversion into web pages
Simulate Future Effect on Enterprise Value
- We provide models that account not only for externalities (social impact) but also for the impact on the company’s future finances.
- You can set the timeframe and scope of impact as needed, and the system supports Monte Carlo simulations. Results can be viewed on the dashboard.
