Launching impactlake Platform

IMPACTLAKE launch and start the pilot program of the “impactlake Platform,” an impact management open platform designed to serve as an infrastructure to accelerate impact creation, investment, and co-creation for all organizations and individuals.

By “fluidizing” the knowledge and opportunities of impact management—which have previously been regarded as specialized domains—we hope to assist diverse stakeholders in co-creating and sharing value together.

Background

Recently, interest in sustainability and impact has grown rapidly, leading many companies and investors to begin measuring and managing their impact (impact management). However, due to the diversity of purposes and the high degree of individuality involved, challenges remain, such as heavy practical burdens, barriers to accessing specialized knowledge, and data fragmentation.

Since its establishment, IMPACTLAKE has provided practical support to individual companies and investors through the impact management agent “impactlake™” and related advisory services. Now, expanding these activities to society at large, we are launching this platform to build and continuously operate an “open infrastructure.” We aim to lower the hurdles for impact management and contribute to the development of the ecosystem.

Details of “impactlake Platform”

The “impactlake Platform” is an open platform designed not only for visualizing and evaluating impact but also for facilitating continuous management, dialogue with diverse stakeholders, and ultimately co-creation (business, investment, etc.).

Main Functions and Database:

The platform integrates the tools necessary for practical impact management with a referenceable database.

  • Functions
Features for creating and managing issue maps, logic models, and KPIs, as well as reporting/disclosure functions and forums for verification.
  • Database
Includes statistical data and indicators used as baselines and evidence during evaluation (As of Jan 5, 2026: approx. 200,000+ items, primarily consisting of initial data from major frameworks). It will also sequentially include impact-related disclosure information from domestic and international listed/unlisted companies, investors, and funds (As of Jan 5, 2026: approx. 6,000+ entities, including domestic companies and major global investors).

Key Features:

  1. Open Access (Free for Everyone)
The platform is available not only to companies and financial institutions but also to service providers and individuals (final beneficiaries, investors, etc.). Any individual or organization that agrees to the terms of use can register for an account and use the service for free.
  2. Acceptance of Diverse Methodologies (Non-Standard)
We do not define or force a specific framework as “the standard.” We accept diverse evaluation methods and logic models, accumulating them in a way that allows for mutual reference and verification, thereby promoting the development of practical optimal solutions.
  3. Comprehensive Functionality
We provide one-stop support for the impact management process (Planning/Measurement, Verification, Reporting/Disclosure, Utilization). The platform also facilitates matching for fundraising and partnership formation based on visualized data.

Future Development Roadmap

While this is a pilot launch (with implementation of basic functions and major domestic-centric data), we plan to expand functions and the database according to the following schedule:

  • Around March 2026 (Additional Release 1): Enhancing Dialogue and Data
We will implement dialogue and verification functions such as information request features and forums. On the data side, we plan to expand information on domestic bonds/debt finance and disclosure information for some global companies.
  • Around May 2026 (Additional Release 2): Automation and Strengthening Data Linkage
We will implement scoring, point allocation for activities, and research automation (wizard) functions. We will also enhance the comprehensiveness of evaluation data through API linkages with major external databases.
  • Around July 2026 (Transition to Full Operation): Full-Scale Ecosystem Operation
We will begin external information connection via API and bulk data provision, as well as open up point usage functions. Regarding data, we aim to accumulate and provide a wide range of information, including global bond information and unlisted company data.

Note: Schedules, functions, and data content are subject to change based on user feedback.

Endorsements

The “impactlake Platform” is an open infrastructure aiming for the development of the entire ecosystem, not for the profit of specific players. We broadly invite endorsements from partners (companies, financial institutions, local governments, research institutions, individuals, etc.) who resonate with this vision and are willing to cultivate the soil for impact creation together.

We have already received endorsements from multiple institutional investors and VCs at the time of launch. We are sequentially initiating feedback loops and collaborations with initiatives led by endorsing organizations. Moving forward, we aim to collaborate with even more stakeholders to realize a society where impact is fairly evaluated and circulated.
